Daily Routine
9.30 am DOORS OPEN and a register is taken as the children arrive. Children are also encouraged to self register by finding their own name and putting it up on the board. There is free choice of a range of floor based and table top toys, as well as sand, water, paint and malleable play.
11.00 am TIDY-UP TIME in which your child is encouraged to assist the staff.
11.15 am ABC AREOBICS children take part in a quick physical activity. Physical activity before sitting down helps children burn off energy and is good for physical, emotional, psychological and social wellbeing.
11.20 am CIRCLE TIME children are split into two groups according to age. We have a three plus group (Kangaroos) and a 2 year old group (Giraffes). Here children will take part in activities such as singing, ' show and tell ', letter of the week etc.
11.30 am BREAK TIME children sit in their groups and are offered a drink of milk or water and a plate of fruit and crackers/toast to share.
11.40 am GROUP TIME in which the children in Kangaroo group undertake specific age and development related activities with their key workers. Giraffe group go outdoors to play.
11.50 am PHYSICAL PLAY TIME which may include outdoor play with a range of equipment, indoor soft play, team games, obstacle courses, music and movement.
12.20 am STORY TIME in which children sit and listen to a short story together. We choose a book each week to provide a focus for learning and teaching activities. Stories are chosen for their educational content including colour, shape and number recognition, the teaching of morals and positive behaviours, important life events and themes from around the world.
12.30 am HOME TIME.
12.30 am LUNCH CLUB (Lunch Club times are given on the HOME page).
