Emily
Hi my name is Emily and I have been working in childcare for over 20 years. I studied Criminology and Sociology at The University of Kent and worked for Sutton Play Centres in the holidays. After finishing my degree I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in childcare and worked as a Nursery Assistant in the Toddler Room for Teddies Day Nursery in Sutton (now Bright Horizons). I then volunteered in an orphanage in Uganda, helping to look after the everyday needs of the children, and teaching in the Pre-school. On my return to the UK I worked as a Nursery Assistant in another Day Nursery for a number of years with children aged 1-4 years before coming here to what was then Little Acorns Pre-School. It was here that I studied for my Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) and worked as the Deputy Manager and then Manager. When Little Acorns Pre-school closed in 2016 I decided that I would like to own and run my own Pre-School and thus ABC Pre-school Beddington was born and our first admission was in September 2016.
I love my job and am very enthusiastic and dedicated in delivering the best service I can offer to the future generation. I firmly believe that giving a child a good experience in their early years will effect what they are to become in later years, therefore the aim of my staff and I is to give every child in our care the best start to their education by providing a safe, stimulating, and happy environment. I enjoy travelling in my free time and in 2012 I climbed Kilimanjaro for charity.
My favourite colour is pink and I love elephants and strawberry ice cream!
